Violinist Hanna Parviainen, originally from Kokkola, completed her studies at both the Sibelius Academy and the Geneva University of Music, studying under Kaija Saarikettu, Tero Latvala, and Mihaela Martin. Hanna has also appeared as second concertmaster with both the Lapland and Central Ostrobothnia Chamber Orchestras, and has made short guest appearances with the Finnish National Opera, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, and Tapiola Sinfonietta.
Hanna served as the associate principal second violin of the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra for nearly 10 years before moving to the position of principal second violin with the Lapland Chamber Orchestra.
Alongside her orchestral work, Hanna has also been involved in teaching. She has introduced professional students to orchestral playing at the Orchestra Academy under Tampere University of Applied Sciences. Hanna has also supervised and conducted student orchestra projects at Central Ostrobothnia University of Applied Sciences, Centria. Additionally, she has worked as a violin teacher at the aforementioned universities of applied sciences.
Hanna is also an active chamber musician, regularly performing with various classical ensembles. Notable performance venues include Kangasala Classic, the Kitee Chamber Concerts, and the Faun Afternoon chamber music series in Tampere. She has also studied baroque violin and performed with the Kentala Consort, led by Kreeta-Matia Kentala, as well as in concerts organized by Pirkanmaa Baroque.
As a soloist, Hanna has appeared with the Central Ostrobothnia Chamber Orchestra, Kuopio City Orchestra, and the Sibelius Academy Symphony Orchestra.
In 2015, she achieved third place in the Kuopio National Violin Competition.
